Top local retailers win at the 9th Scottish Independent Retail Awards 2019

Creative Oceanic are delighted to announce the winners of the Scottish Independent Retail Awards 2019 partnered by United Wholesale Grocers Ltd.

The event welcomed over 300 guests at Marriott Hotel Glasgow, on Tuesday April 9 in a celebration of the Scottish retail industry.

The awards acknowledged the contributions of the country’s independent retails to the overall economy as well as the wide range of diversity that is present in this sector. They also recognised the business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit of individuals that own smaller chains, whose work is often overshadowed in the bigger landscape.

The awards were supported by many respected and successful brands in the retail industry such as; United Wholesale Grocers Ltd, Muller Milk & Ingredient, Lucozade Ribena Suntory, Asahi UK Ltd, Barr Soft Drinks and JTI.

The event was hosted by STV presenter, Josie Smith. She welcomed on stage the protagonists of the sector whose ability and commitment to serving the Scottish communities crowded them winners.

A Spokesperson for the Scottish Independent Retail Awards 2019 said: “These awards are now in their eighth year and have become a stable event in the country’s business calendar. The Scottish Independent Retail Awards is the leading celebration of the independent retailers who enhance our communities and contribute to the national economy by employing over hundreds of thousands of people.

“The event provided an excellent platform for networking and marketing as some of the most successful retailers and brands were present to celebrate the achievements of the retail sector.

“We would like to thank the public for their overwhelming support and congratulations to the winners for their huge achievements.”

As well as celebrating the Scottish independent retailers, the awards also offered a platform to raise money for our official charity partner Variety Scotland-The Children’s Charity that provide support to children with disabilities.
